Mission Statement

Chamber Music Reno, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and promote the artistic
and educational endeavors of chamber music in Reno, Nevada.
Chamber Music Reno fulfills its mission through the following core programs:
I. The Silver Soirée Series of intimate house concerts to cultivate new and seasoned
classical chamber music audiences through professional and student performances.
II. The Young Artist Chamber Ensemble [YACE] Fellowship Program for high school
students to study the major string quartet literature coached by professional chamber music
artists and to gain performance experience.
III. Chamber Music Master Classes throughout the year with guest Teacher/Artists
for pre-college classical music string and piano students.
IV. Free Community Engagement Performances throughout the Reno-Sparks-Carson
metro area in venues such as retirement communities, high schools, houses of worship, etc.
V. Young People’s Concerts: free community concerts for children ages 4 to 12 in
underserved local communities where the population may not have been introduced to classical music in a chamber setting.

One of its four core programs is The Young Artist Chamber Ensemble Fellowship Program for serious young music students to study the
major string chamber music repertoire coached by professional artists and to gain performance experience. This season, the young musicians participating and who you will hear perform on the April 15th soirée are, as seen in the middle picture: cellist Olivia Knock [left], senior, music education major, University of Nevada, Reno; violinist Adele Balcarek [center left], senior at TMCC High School; violinist Stacy Nam [center right], sophomore at Damonte Ranch High School; and violist Bijan Taheri [right], senior at the Davidson Academy.
The students, calling themselves Quartet Vérité, are working on Dvořák’s Quartet No. 6 in F Major, Op. 96 "American".
